Hailing from Warmia & Mazury, the land of dark forests and mysterious lakes, comes Thempest with their second full-length album, “Plague Maiden”! Inspired by the early works of My Dying Bride, Emperor, and Vader, Thempest delivers an intriguing blend of genres and a signature sound that can be described as atmospheric death metal. Their latest offering, “Plague Maiden”, though not a concept album per se, revolves around the tragic events behind the Great Plague in Warmia (1708–1711). The titular character of the album is taken from Slavic mythology and is the personification of the plague.
The album will be released Via Nocturna, on February 25 as a limited jewel case with a 12-page booklet.
